That night Katy and I met up with our friend from USC, Theresa, her roommate, Mia, and her roommate's friend from school, Cara, (they both go to Wisconsin) for dinner in the West Village at a place called Bar'rique. I had three huge crostini that were delicious. One was prosciutto with mozzarella and yellow pepper, another was white bean with truffles and the other one was ricotta with almonds and honey. After dinner, we went to a pub Katy's boss told her about called the Slaughtered Lamb and after looking it up online we found out it was dungeon themed and kind of creepy (they had a rotating statue of a werewolf biting a damsel's neck in part of the place). It was a fun atmosphere and we had a really fun time, some of which is not fit for the Internet. We met a group of guys similar in age to us who work in Rockefeller Center, right by my office. They were very East coast preppy and nice, but they were just there for a night cap so they were being lame and going home early. Next, we went to the Fat Cat, which is an underground jazz bar, but with ping pong and pool tables. Andi, my sister Jen's sorority sister who is also interning in New York this summer, told me about the Fat Cat and it had a super fun crowd. Hopefully Andi can join us next time!
When we left the Fat Cat there were police barricades and a huge crowd of people in the street. We figured it had to have something to do with gay pride and gay marriage being legalized in New York at midnight. Katy told me today that the crowd we were in was right in front of the Stonewall Inn, which is where the first gay activist meeting was held. They were having a huge celebration and it was pretty amazing to be there for such a historic event in such a historic location. Everyone was so happy and excited, the energy was amazing. After we made it through the crowd, Katy and I parted from the other three girls and headed home.
I worked today and went and got dinner with Katy at The Grey Dog, which is an amazing sandwich place I have heard really good things about. I got a turkey sandwich with brie, apples and honey mustard on sourdough bread. It was so good, I loved it and I will for sure be going back there some time soon. I am pretty tired from working and staying up late last night, so I am just relaxing and watching "Friday Night Lights" and will probably go to bed early tonight. Tomorrow I have the "Zookeeper" premiere, so I will be sure to fill you in on how that goes. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Oh, also everyone who is able needs to download hanging with friends. It's my new obsession.
