no Paris
So the day started off with a downer when Paris Hilton bailed on coming into the Us offices today, but on the plus side there was free lunch for everyone. Us reporters spotted her partying until 4 a.m. last night, so hungover Paris couldn't be bothered to uphold her responsibilities. She told the office two hours before she was supposed to be there, which I guess is an adequate amount of time. She was supposed to do a twitter takeover, which is when fans tweet questions to Paris and she answers them through Us Weekly's twitter account. It would have been really fun to have her there, and a lot of people in the office were disappointed, but hopefully there will be more celebrities coming in soon. Two other interns and I went with the fashion editor to film a segment about some crazy celebrity outfits (will post the link when it's up on the website). There were a lot of new interns in the office today and some I have already met, so now I have met all the interns I am going to be working with this summer. From what I can tell they are all very driven and talented, and it feels good to be surrounded by people my age who are interested in entering the same field. I was a little scared though that a few of the interns have already graduated college and have not gotten "real," paid jobs yet, but hopefully by the time I graduate there will be a little better job market. I also got one of my IDs to get into the building (yes, each person needs two) and I am going to get the other one on Monday. After I got off the subway near my dorm, I went straight to the dining hall because I was starving. After dinner I took a nice shower and am now cuddled in my bed catching up on my shows, which is exactly what I need after this week. I'm finally getting around to turning in my job applications and resumes tomorrow morning, and then I am spending the rest of the day with Katy and our friend Leanna, who is in the city before she goes abroad to Paris. I can't wait to see her and I'll fill you in on all of our adventures!
