losers

I planned to go to the Whitney museum today, but after a little research I discovered it is closed on Tuesdays. I figured out that MoMA (museum of modern art), which is usually closed on Tuesdays too, is going to be open Tuesdays in July and August, so I think I am going to go next week. I was actually kind of glad to have a relaxing day because I had a few errands to run. After doing laundry and tidying up my room this morning, I headed to midtown to get my watch repaired. It unexpectedly stopped working last week and I thought the battery had just gone out. The watch repair guy said it wasn't the battery, but fiddled around with it until it started working again, which I was very happy about. The watch repair shop was just a few blocks from Bryant Park, so I decided to read some of by book and people watch in the sun. It was a gorgeous day out today and I saw the world's largest pigeon! It was huge and scaring all the little birds who were trying to take baths in the puddles away.

I met Katy in front of the theatre where "The Book of Mormon" is playing to enter the lottery for discount tickets to tonight's show. Sadly neither of us won the lottery, but I plan on entering it as much as possible to try and win because we have heard really great things about the show and it won the Tony for best musical this year. They had 22 seats available and 14 of them were in the front row, but most of the winners wanted two tickets which meant less names were pulled. After our devastating loss, we stopped in this cute music shop that has vinyl records, cool concert posters and a bunch of other music-relating things. I am excited for work tomorrow because it means I'll be one day closer to my long Fourth of July weekend!
