I had such a great weekend, but it was super busy so I did not have the chance to post anything. I am going to divide it up for you to avoid epic posts. On Friday Katy's uncle was nice enough to get us tickets to Glee Live in New Jersey (they weren't having a concert in the city). Before the show, we met up with Katy's dad's friend Jan who was meeting some of her friends at the concert, and she treated us to dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Chelsea. Then we walked to Penn Station and took the train to Jersey. We got super confused at the train station in Jersey because we didn't know if we were supposed to transfer to another train that took us a stop closer to the arena where the concert was or it there were shuttles running from the station where we got off. Jan asked like six people and no one seemed to know, but we finally figured out there were buses running between the train station and the venue. When we finally got to the arena, Katy and I power-walked around to will call for our tickets, and then made our way to our seats, which were amazing! The photos really don't do it justice.
They sang a bunch of songs from this season, including "Loser Like Me," which is an original song written for the show. All of the Warblers were there, including Blaine (my fav), who is not gay in real life Katy claims, so there is still a chance for me. They had a ton of pyrotechnics throughout the show, like actual fireworks when Lea Michele sang "Firework" and fire, sparks and smoke throughout the show. Fox was also filming our concert for a 3D movie they are releasing of Glee Live, so they did five extra songs. They performed two songs twice for filming purposes, but it was still great to hear them more than once. After the show, we met Katy's uncle backstage and met and/or saw pretty much everyone in the cast expect Lea Michele, who bailed as soon as she could we thought. Katy's uncle introduced us to Chris Colfer (Kurt) and Gwyneth Paltrow, who was a special guest at the concert and sang Cee Lo's "Forget You." As we were leaving we ran into Cory Monteith (Finn), who was waiting for his car with a mystery girl. They were very dressed up, so we assumed they were going out in the city. They were both super tall and made Katy and I feel like we were little 12 year olds when we were looking up at them. We got a ride home with Katy's uncle, which I was very thankful for because the line to get on the bus back to the train station was insane and it would have taken us forever to get home. I crashed once I got back to my room because Katy and I had to wake up early to catch an 8:15 a.m. bus to Baltimore. Katy wanted to surprise her dad at home for Father's Day and I wanted to tag along for the ride because I have never been to Baltimore before. Also, Katie Haines was going to come from DC and Sarah Jackson was already in Baltimore for the mayor's conference. I couldn't pass up the chance to see them and catch up! I tried to upload a video of the Warblers singing "Teenage Dream," but blogger was having difficulty with it, but here are some pictures from the concert.
