Bear Grylls
Today was my second day at Us, and the office had way more energy than on Monday because the other Wenner Media magazine staffs were back on the floor after the holiday. There were five interns today, which was good because we had a lot more to do. We did some research on material for some articles and I also transcribed part of an interview with Chris Harrison, The Bachelor host, who was talking about this season's Bachelorette. The most exciting part of the day was getting to sit in on a lunch and question and answer session with Bear Grylls, who was there for Men's Journal. For those of you who do not watch his show, Man vs. Wild, number one you should and number two he puts himself in crazy situations and shows you how to survive in the wild. He is quite funny and charming; I think he could say anything and make it sound perfect with his English accent. Brad told us that Paris Hilton will be in the office tomorrow! I do not think the interns will get to sit in on that one because the veteran interns told me if they are big names they usually will not ask us to come. They mainly want the interns to go to those types of things so the room will be full for whoever is there. I forgot to e-mail my resume to myself last night and we had to go to the movie later than anticipated, so we bailed on printing them. So after dinner, I went to meet Katy to print them, and then we went to Forever 21 and Whole Foods so she could start making her lunch in the morning to take to work. It has been nice having lunch provided my first two days, but I plan on taking a bagel and fruit from the dining hall in the morning to bring to work. Oh, and you should definitely go see Bridesmaids. It was hilarious, Ms. Wiig is my new fav. Also, the theater we went to gives student discounts on Tuesday so our tickets were only $7, plus we each got a free small popcorn. Katy and I both agree we would have paid full price for the movie, it is well worth the money. I'll let you know if I see Paris tomorrow!
