an angry homeless woman

On my way to breakfast an event occurred that pissed me off. A homeless woman stepped in front of me and asked for a few dollars, and I said no. Now before you start to prejudge the situation and me know this: when I do give to homeless people I do it in the form of food or clothing for reasons I think most of you can understand. I continued to walk past her and she started yelling at me as I walked away about how some other girl down the block was wearing my same dress and that meant I was cheap and a b-i-t-c-h.

This angered me for multiple reasons:
1) I am not a morning person and I had not had my coffee yet.
2) Most people beg outside of places where people have just bought something so people have spare change at the ready, which is a smart way to go. Stopping someone on a street corner is not as good of a plan when they have to dig in their purse for their wallet.
3) Her actions proved that not giving her money was a good decision.
4) I was wearing a skirt and a top, not a dress. Yes, the skirt was from Forever 21, but it does not look cheap.
5) The last thing she said is to be determined.

That little incident didn't stop me from having a very busy day. Instead of going to work on time, I went to the "Zookeeper" press conference at a hotel on Columbus Circle. I was about six feet away from Rosario Dawson, Kevin James, Leslie Bibb and the director and producer of the movie. Rosario and Leslie are both stunning in person, and Kevin was hilarious as expected. I wish I could have taken a picture of the view from the restaurant where the panel was set up because it was spectacular, but I didn't want to lose my cool factor. We were on the 35th floor and there was an amazing view of Central Park. The press conference lasted for about an hour, and after it was finished I took the train to work.

It took me almost all day to transcribe the hour-long recording from the press conference, but I was okay with it because it kept me busy and I was listening to interesting people. After I did a few more tasks, it was time to head home. Three more days until the Cape!
